„If we can find money to kill people, you can find money to help people.”

„Keeping people hopeless and pessimistic – see I think there are two ways in which people are controlled – first of all frighten people and secondly demoralize them.”

„An educated, healthy and confident nation is harder to govern.”

„If this is what can happen between supposed enemies, if one enemy can hold out his hand and offer to heal, then what else is possible? That’s when I heard that the man who runs the biggest anti-Michael Moore website was going to have to shut it down. He could no longer afford to keep it up because his wife was ill and he couldn’t afford to pay for her health insurance. He was faced with a choice of either keep attacking me or pay for his wife’s health. Fortunately, he chose his wife. But something seemed wrong about being forced into such a decision. Why, in a free country, shouldn’t he be able to have health insurance and exercise his First Amendment right to run me into the ground? ”

” Cuba is a little island in the Caribbean with little to no resources. We can do a lot to improve the people’s health. This does not happen in the United States. Why are we able and you are not?”

„We are in the post communist era during the 90s. The hero is an old man that his wife doesn’t speak to him for the past years and his son is in Canada and doesn’t want to talk to him. The government sends him a letter letting him know that he has been awarded with a medal for his valor during world war II. Its really a very humane movie. Very kind, romantic. It keeps you going for the whole time and you really want to see why his wife is not talking to him, why his son is avoiding to talk to him on the phone and how he is trying to recover the lost time.”

„I’m no more afraid of the Grim Reaper than I am of a Presbyterian on Mother’s Day.”

„No one who looks through that glass sees a person. They see a crime. I’m not David Gale. I’m a murderer and a rapist… four days shy of his execution.”

„We spend our whole life trying to stop death. Eating, inventing, loving, praying, fighting, killing. But what do we really know about death? Just that nobody comes back. Then there comes a point – a moment – in life when your mind outlives its desires, its obsessions, when your habits survive your dreams, and when your losses… Maybe death is a gift. You wonder. All I can tell you is that by this time tomorrow I’ll be dead. I know when. I just cannot say why.”
